Company History
Herb Shaw & Sons is a family owned and operated company with deep roots in the Upper Ottawa Valley. Since John Shaw first established a grist mill near Lake Dore in Renfrew County in 1847, the Shaw family have continued to distinguish themselves as pioneers and leaders in the area's business and industry.
The present company, now run by 5th generation Shaw's, maintains this leadership role by manufacturing lumber and poles with timber harvested from managed forests. The company's support of sustainable forestry management and their commitment towards minimizing waste products by implementing plant and equipment upgrades, illustrate the company's dedication towards ensuring a healthy future for the area's forestry industry.
